Joining the Program
We offer a variety of equine activities: For those able to ride, we entertain with games (Hide & seek, What’s the time Mr Wolf). Fun ways of interacting with others (socialising) and learning how to stop and start the horse. We encourage stretching to place things on drums, to gain balance and confidence.
We have a carriage driving program for those who, due to weight or physical reasons cannot ride. Our carriage has been modified for wheelchair access, with a removable seat and a built-in ramp. The carriage is driven around an arena that, for safety reasons, is separate from the riding area.
For those daunted by such a large animal, we have a safe, beautifully handcrafted, non-motorised mechanical horse. The ’equicizer’ simulates the natural movement of a real horse.
Our Centre is open to all Disability organisations and private clients.

Volunteering
We are looking for volunteers 18-80 years old who can help from around 9.30am until 12.30pm on Tuesdays throughout Autumn and Spring. We do not work during Summer or Winter. Horse knowledge in not necessary although it would be an advantage. We will show you how to groom and saddle a horse if that is your interest. Or you may prefer to be a helper who walks beside the rider. There are no obligations. If you enjoy it, you will want to come back. We hold a fundraising luncheon each year. Our members offer their services by supplying and cooking food. This is voluntary only and not obligatory. All are welcome!
