Joining RDA Swan Hill
Joining the Program
Swan Hill RDA works with children from our Specialist School, local Primary Schools, young adults and others seeking to achieve personal goals. Our program includes basic riding skills and horse care. The Swan Hill RDA Arena is used for general riding activities and games, competitions and exercises. The newly-opened Sensory Trail provides further stimulation for riders. A variety of stations allow for a diverse range of experiences. Riders are assessed and goals are developed and sequentially targeted. Each lesson is recorded to ensure progress is occurring. Swan Hill RDA emphasises engagement and enjoyment.
- Lesson Fees: $2

Volunteering
Swan Hill RDA Coaches are committed volunteers who complete ongoing training to maintain their accreditation. Our organisation could not continue without their dedication. However, we also require the ongoing assistance of those who are interested in assisting our riders to achieve their goals. The roles of volunteers are varied: side walkers, horse leaders, arena and sensory trail assistants, kitchen helpers … the list is long. (And no, you don’t have to be able to ride a horse!) RDA Swan Hill appreciates any time that can be given by our volunteers. We recognise that volunteers have many competing interests and time commitments. Volunteers sometimes may be involved in fundraising activities and in celebrations of special occasions.
